Knee Ultrasound

Knee ultrasound is a diagnostic imaging modality that uses ultrasound waves to assess the knee joint.

With receiving real-time images we have the advantage of looking at knee joint structures both dynamic and static. Knee ultrasound is very safe and we can repeat this examination many times to monitor applied treatment.

Anatomical structures we assess:

  • joint recesses and bursae,
  • ligaments,
  • tendons,
  • muscles,
  • menisci,
  • popliteal fossa,
  • bone contours,
  • cartilage.

Indications to knee ultrasound examination:

  • knee pain,
  • knee blocking,
  • knee instability,
