Elbow ultrasound is a diagnostic imaging modality that uses ultrasound waves to assess elbow structures.
The examination consists of static and dynamic assessment during flexion and extension,pronation and supination.
Anatomical structures we assess:
- joint recesses,
- bone contours,
- cartilage,
- tendon attachments,
- joint ligaments,
- nerves.
Indications for elbow ultrasound examination:
- elbow pain,
- limitation of range of motion,
- elbow edema,
- monitoring of elbow treatment,
- indications from other doctors.
Preparing for the examination:
There are no special demands.
