Elbow Ultrasound

Elbow ultrasound is a diagnostic imaging modality that uses ultrasound waves to assess elbow structures.

The examination consists of static and dynamic assessment during flexion and extension,pronation and supination.

Anatomical structures we assess:

  • joint recesses,
  • bone contours,
  • cartilage,
  • tendon attachments,
  • joint ligaments,
  • nerves.

Indications for elbow ultrasound examination:

  • elbow pain,
  • limitation of range of motion,
  • elbow edema,
  • monitoring of elbow treatment,
  • indications from other doctors.

Preparing for the examination:

There are no special demands.
