Low Back Pain

Low Back Pain

Low back pain with accompanying symptoms like muscle tension, stiffness, radiation is a common cause of patient’s complaints.

Causes:

  • degenerative disc disease,
  • facet osteoarthritis,
  • disc herniation,
  • bone metastases,
  • inflammation,
  • vertebral canal stenosis,
  • myofascial pain,
  • sacroiliac joint disease,
  • other causes.

It is very difficult to determine an equivocal cause of low back pain in 85% of cases. Studies suggest that obesity, poor posture, hard working may be the risk factor for the development of low back pain. The diagnosis is based on patient’s history and radiological examinations. It is very important to pay attension to ‘’ Red Flag’’ symptoms which can suggest life -threatening disorders.

Red Flag symptoms:

  • Coexistence of fever, chills, loss of weight,
  • Low back pain before 20 or after 55 years old,
  • Night pain,
  • Chest pain,
  • Cancer disease in patient’s history,
  • Coexistence low back pain with urinate disorder.

Treatment:

In the majority of cases symptoms will disappear after taking a rest, anti-inflammatory drugs and physiotherapy. Sometimes it is recommended to perform intervention procedures or to go for surgery.

Interventions we perform:

  • cluneal nerves hydrodissection,
  • sacro-iliac joint block,
  • the gluteus medius muscle and the quadratus lumborum muscle prolotherapy,
  • supraspinosus ligament prolotherapy.
