Achilles Tendon Pain

Achilles Tendon Pain

The Achilles tendon is the largest tendon in the human body.

It plays a very important role in the process of walking. It arises from the gastrocnemius and the soleus muscles creating a tough band of fibrous tissue called  the Achilles Tendon.

The Achilles tendon pain can be caused by:

  • Achilles tendon bursa inflammation,
  • Achilles tendon acute injury,
  • Achilles tendon chronic degenerative changes called tendinosis.
  • Achilles tendon enthesopathy.

Interventions we perform:

  • PRP injection,
  • prolotherapy,
  • dry needling,
  • high volume injection,
  • bursa steroid injection,

The Achilles tendon pain is difficult to treat. Sometimes it is recommended to wear insoles or do eccentric exercises.

Dr Marcin Goczewski performs all interventions under ultrasound guidance.
